Exercise helps

Exercise helps mind and body

To arrive refreshed and recharged in mind and body, need I say, you need exercise. Exercise affects the brain in many ways.It increases heart rate which pumps more oxygen to the brain. It aids the release of hormones which according to neurologists provides an excellent environment for the growth of brain cells. It also stimulates growth of new connections between cells in many areas of the brain.

Research from UCLA has demonstrated that exercise does many things. The list is long.

To summarise, physical exercise does at least the following to your brain:

1.Aerobic exercise boosts improved cardio-vascular fitness,
   improves circulation
2. It boosts memory,aids learning
3. Exercise increases concentration
4. It improves mental health
5. Enhances creativity
6. Slows cognitive decline

Physical Body Exercise controls your body:

1.It controls weight, prevents excess weight gain or
   helps maintain weight loss
2.Strengthens your bones and muscles. Improves your mental
health and mood, gives an emotional lift.A brisk 30 minute walk
   daily can show results
3. It boosts energy, boosts confidence and improves self esteem
4. Exercise prevents disease, combats health conditions
5. Promotes better sleep
6.Exercise and physical activity can be enjoyable

Exercise as a recovery process:

For many who need physiotherapy, exercise lessons brings back
the rehabilitation,so necessary for recovery.

The purpose of home and outdoor exercises are to challenge
your brain and your body.It is one way to make the body
re-learn how to control your posture, movements and orientation.

When doing exercises which challenge your balance, tolerance or
stress, always make sure you are as safe as possible,to not push
yourself to extremes,or risk falling over or feeling very sick.
Challenge yourself little by little. Try to have someone,
a friend or relative to monitor your exercise routine.

Exercise and fitness at work

In the workplace exercise and fitness to work is now assessed.
It is aimed to promote and maintain the highest degree of
physical, mental and social wellbeing of people at work.
This is primarily to prevent decline in health caused either
by their working conditions,to protect workers in their
employment from risks and health hazards. In short to adapt
work to workers.

Exercise obsession

While exercise is an important part of managing health, exercise
obsession can do more harm than good. Typical exercise related
injuries include pulled muscles,sprains,strains,fractures and
dislocations.Avoid performing exercises that are beyond your
physical abilities.Always wear safety gear.Create a comfortable,
healthy exercise routine that will work you out, without
burning you out.
