Prince Harry is engaged to American Actress Megan Markle

News of the engagement of Prince Harry and Megan Markle was released by Prince Charles from Clarence House at 10 am on 27 November 2017 on a crisp and sunny morning.

The official announcement was brief. Prince Charles said: "he was thrilled and very happy indeed." While Megan's parents,Tom Markle and Doria Ragland, were incredibly happy their daughter had found a Prince.

The exact wedding date has yet to be revealed, but most know it will not be a Bank holiday, but it will be in the Spring 2018. The venue has soon to be revealed. 

Every Royal wedding is steeped in tradition and custom.

Under the Succession to the Crown Act 2013, H.M. The Queen gave her blessing to the marriage as Prince Harry is 5th in line to the Throne and is obliged to ask her permission. The Queen will have to sign an Instrument of Consent,transcribed in calligraphy and issued under the Great Seal of the Realm, at a Privy Council Meeting ahead of the Wedding.

Self proclaimed Town Crier,Tony Appleton from Chelmsford,Essex was in attendance outside Buckingham Palace ringing his hand bell to make the announcement public. Crowds of well wishers gathered to see Prince Harry and Megan walk hand in hand to pose for the camera in the Sunken Garden at Kensington Palace.

Megan showed off her diamond ring containing three stones, a middle 4 carat diamond from Botswana and two side diamonds from Princess Diana's personal collection.The ring was designed by Prince Harry and made by the Royal Jewellers,Cleave & Co.

Megan and Harry are naturally shy

The news has heightened great expectations of the role of Prince Harry who has always been a great lover of humanitarian values like his mother,Princess Diana, while Megan, besides being a T V actress,.was raised as a global citizen and much like Harry is committed to charity.
